Hello World

Well, as the title of this first posting may indicate, this is my first post. I will likely address in my blog technology, some programming, and to a degree, other topics. I am sure some of them will be useless stories while others may be quite interesting to you.

I haven't been too much on Blogging before, so this is my first foray into the area. I have been encouraged by reading some fabulous blogs. Sort of interesting. In short, while I will try to organize topics in this blog, the fact is I might not. But bottom line is that I will write about things that interest me and that I wish to make a statement on.

Why "Penguin Follies"? Well, as with everything, there are usually ways to find the funny side of things that happen. Me, I try to laugh at myself... and I do that all too often. The fact is, that I have usually ventured "counter culture" ... or at least not fully in the flow of things... most of my life. My recent venture into Linux in truth really kicked off in early 2007. I will probably write more on that. That adventure has been interesting mostly. I will write about that in the future. I will also write about my experiences learning to program. It is really more trial and error for me and blind wondering through the "forest" with many bumps into trees. But, my venture off the beaten path is not just with linux. So, lets see where my blog takes us.
